Teams & Workspaces
Invite people into a workspace, choose what they can do, and run more than one workspace from the same account.
A workspace is the thing everything else in eusend belongs to: your domains, API keys, contacts, suppression list, templates, sending reputation, usage and invoice. A team is the people who can reach one.
You get a workspace when you sign up, and you can invite anyone into it from Settings → Team.
Roles
Every member holds one of three roles. They nest — an admin can do everything a member can, an owner everything an admin can.
| Capability | Member | Admin | Owner |
|---|---|---|---|
| Send email, and read the full send log | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| Add and verify domains | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| Create and revoke API keys | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| Register webhook endpoints | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| Templates, audiences, contacts and broadcasts | ✅ | ✅ | ✅ |
| Invite people, and see pending invites | — | ✅ | ✅ |
| Remove members, and see the team activity feed | — | ✅ | ✅ |
| Rename the workspace, set branding and tracking | — | ✅ | ✅ |
| Connect integrations | — | ✅ | ✅ |
| Manage billing and the plan | — | ✅ | ✅ |
| Grant or remove the admin role | — | — | ✅ |
| Transfer ownership | — | — | ✅ |
A member is not a read-only role. Everyone on the team can send mail, add domains and mint API keys — the role boundary is about administering the team and the account, not about protecting the product surface. Invite people you would trust with an API key, because that is what every role can create.
There is exactly one owner at a time. To hand a workspace over, the current owner uses Transfer ownership in Settings → Team; they become an admin, and the person they name becomes the owner.
Inviting people
Admins and owners invite by email address. The invitation is a one-time link that expires after 7 days, and it works whether or not the recipient already has an eusend account — signing up through it drops them straight into your workspace.
You can have up to 25 pending invitations at a time, and send up to 20 an hour. Cancel one that has not been accepted from the same page.
Someone who joins through an invitation does not get a personal workspace of their own along the way. If they are later removed from every workspace they belong to, they are shown a recovery page that creates one for them.
Two-factor authentication
The team list shows a 2FA badge against each member, so you can see at a glance who has a second factor on their account and who signs in with a password alone. It is visible to everyone on the team, not just to admins.
Anyone with an account can create API keys and reach your domains and contacts, so an account without a second factor is a risk the whole team carries — which is the reason this is shown to the whole team. Nobody can change anyone else's setting; each person turns theirs on under Account settings → Two-factor authentication.
eusend does not currently let you require 2FA for a workspace. If you need that, email support@eusend.dev — it helps to know who is asking.
Multiple workspaces
One account can own several workspaces, and the switcher at the top of the sidebar moves between them without signing out. Use them to keep one client apart from another, or production apart from staging.
Workspaces share nothing but you:
- separate domains, API keys and webhook endpoints
- separate contacts, audiences and suppression lists
- separate usage, quota and daily sending limits
- separate sending reputation — a bounce problem in one never touches another
- separate invoices, and a separate team
Create one from New workspace in the workspace switcher.
Billing
Your first workspace is free, on the same 3,000 emails a month as any other free account. Additional workspaces choose a plan when you create them and are billed separately — each has its own subscription, its own volume and its own invoice, so you can size them independently and cancel one without touching the others.
Being invited into somebody else's workspace does not use up your free one.
If a workspace's subscription ends
An additional workspace with no live subscription goes inactive. Sending stops —
the API answers WORKSPACE_INACTIVE on the send routes,
and new domains and API keys cannot be created — but nothing is deleted. Your
contacts, domains, templates and logs stay exactly as they were, the workspace stays in
your switcher marked Inactive, and choosing a plan for it in Settings → Billing starts
it sending again.
The same state applies to a workspace you created but never completed checkout for. One that is still empty a week later is cleaned up automatically; one with anything in it is kept.
Your first workspace never goes inactive — it falls back to the free plan.
Deleting a workspace
There is no self-serve delete. Email support@eusend.dev from the owner's address and we will remove it, or use Account settings → Delete account to delete your account and everything in it.
